Always has been championing girls’ confidence globally for more than 30 years, bringing puberty education to million girls around the world every year. Always believes that confidence can be taught, which is why it’s developing a Global Confidence Teaching Curriculum for girls, which will be incorporated in its long-term puberty education programme.

Together we're going to help girls everywhere realize they are unstoppable and nothing should hold them back, ever. #LikeAGirl = Unstoppable.  Join the movement by watching and sharing this video

This has been co-developed by renowned education thought leaders and academics, incorporating the latest scientific research on confidence-building. The curriculum will be integrated into Always’ long-term puberty education programme, reaching up to 20 million girls in 65 counties over the next two years.

Findings from the newAlways Confidence Study*show that sustaining confidence at puberty can have a hugely positive impact on a girl’s life, both in her teenage years and beyond:

-         59% of girls experience a drop in confidence at puberty

-         61% of girls ages 16 to 24 feel they lacked the confidence to do whatever they wanted to do after puberty

-         43% of girls who were more confident during puberty had a great teacher who inspired them

Teaching tools to help empower girls to feel Unstoppable #LikeAGirl

The Always Puberty Education Programme has been designed to help support teachers and their students through this difficult time, so they understand their changing body and emotions, and embrace puberty with confidence.

With free classroom resource packs, including information leaflets for all students and parents, feminine protection samples for each girl and demonstration kits to help girls get to grips with feminine protection, as well as free downloadable, age specific classroom resources , such as lesson plans, activity sheets and videos, including the inspiring #LikeaGirl videos, teachers are armed with a robust education tool that aims to empower students with information and inspire them to embrace puberty and beyond with confidence.

The Always Puberty Education Programme includes three key models:

1. Changing Body:  Giving students straight answers to their biggest questions about puberty, growth and development. It includes a video to show changes associated with puberty, the female reproductive organs and what’s occurring inside the body during the menstrual cycle.

2. Healthy Body:  Teaching students to properly care for their changing bodies, both inside and out, including diet, exercise, personal hygiene and sleep.

3. Emotional Health:  Addressing emotional changes caused by puberty, including advice about peer pressure, self-esteem and relationships with parents/carers and leveraging the #LikeAGirl campaign developed to help teens build their confidence and to empower them to live to their fullest potential.

Always announces Ted partnership

Additionally, TED, the non-profit devoted to spreading ideas, has committed to support Always in teaching confidence to young girls. In this first-of-its-kind partnership, Always and TED will develop and spread confidence-inspiring content through TED-Ed, a leading educational platform spreading lessons worth sharing.

The TED-Ed educational videos will support Always’ mission to help girls maintain confidence at puberty and beyond.

* The Always Confidence & Puberty Study was conducted on line with 1,006 females aged 16 to 24 and 456 men aged 16 to 24, in UK, June 2015
