For the first-time-ever, the Star Wars film franchise has joined forces with COVERGIRL and Max Factor on a global cosmetics partnership, with six striking and inspiring beauty looks and limited-edition make-up collections coinciding with the release of Episode VII in the Star Wars Saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens
P&G's Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath [@patmcgrathreal], recognised globally as the most celebrated make-up artist in the world, is an avid fan of Star Wars and worked with the brands to design a series of transformative looks.
Pat drew inspiration from the films' iconic characters, and upon the light / dark themes, to create a number of modern, avant garde looks... here are two of the six looks: Droid and Stormtrooper
"With Droid, I wanted her to look almost like a gorgeous robot, with strong gold eyes and gold lips. It's the perfect balance between something futuristic but incredibly beautiful. And then Stormtrooper, she is a soldier, so this make-up look is very intercut, with a graphic eye. The look is very structured and has a very dark berry lip"
"What I want is for women to be inspired by them, and encouraged to explore their imaginations and play with make-up. It's not about a literal recreation of these looks but being captivated by an element of it and working around that instead."
"I just thought, AMAZING. What an incredible convergence of a legendary story, fashion, make-up, pop culture and creativity. As a make-up artist anything that allows me to push creative boundaries is exciting."
Pat McGrath, Global Creative Design Director - P&G
"This is a unique partnership on so many levels, and we're so excited to see it start to roll-out from this month. Both Max Factor and COVERGIRL have a rich brand heritage in the incredible transformative power of make-up, empowring and encouraging women to experiment and unlock their full potential. By taking these brand beliefs, and applying them to, what is without doubt the most talked-about and anticipated movie releases of the year, we have been able to create a dual-brand campaign that is unique, striking and true to the Star Wars story"
Esi Eggleston-Bracey, Vice President, Global Cosmetics - P&G
