With less than one month to go until the start of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, watch this frank and moving short film, which tells the remarkable story of Skeleton gold medal hopeful, Shelley Rudman.

In this Raising an Olympian video, part of P&G's Thank You Mum campaign, the 2006 Olympic silver medallist and her mum Josie talk candidly about Shelley's start in the sport, and the battles she has faced both on and off the track.

As she waits to see if she's gained selection for Team GB and her third Olympic Winter Games, the world champion discusses the elation of winning Great Britain's only medal in Turin 7 years ago, followed by the disappointment of missing out in Vancouver last time round.

Josie and her husband Jack have always been Shelley's biggest supporters.  Together with Shelley's 6-year-old daughter Ella, they will be travelling to Russia with P&G's Thank You Mum campaign, to cheer from the stands in Sochi.

Shelley Rudman is an ambassador for P&G's Thank You Mum campaign, which is celebrating the journey of mums of Olympic athletes and recognising the amazing contribution of all mums everywhere.
